Our focus is to unfold the rich world of local artists. We believe that art has a place in the hearts of everyone and presents itself in so many ways — enjoyment, companionship, inspiration, self-expression and social statements to name a few. Our desire is to inspire deep feelings, emotion and creative thoughts in viewers. Such experiences touch us like no other experiences. The way of thinking, living are constantly affected by the art and artist who created them though we may not be aware of the effect. We believe that the collection of artworks at elsewhere creates the similar experience for both artists and art lovers. When elsewhere was born, many of the artworks displayed were created by people whom Lake, the gallery owner, had met over the last 10 years in College of Marin art classes instructed by highly accomplished instructors such as Chester Arnold, Kent Rupp, Rick Hall, Bill Albright and Allan Widenhofer. These instructors influenced and nurtured many of the artists in Marin and beyond. A number of the artists currently represented may be connected to the College of Marin; many other local artists join for monthly shows. The artists at elsewhere share common dedication to growth with a love for what they do. We would love you to embrace their energy when you visit our gallery.
